It's been suggested that we add classifieds online. This would be done so that individuals and businesses could not just advertise in the magazine and on the website but also offer specific products for sale with photos. I've looked around at other sites that do this. Most offer this service free to individuals who wish to sell their tack, horses and trailers. The service is paid for with business ads on the site. That is one option that we are looking at for non-professional/business classifieds. We have also considered combining that with special listings and ads by equine businesses that could be purchased for placement in the magazine and on the website which would also include placement of an unlimited number of classifieds for an entire year. Since The Tennessee Equestrian will not be published until the end of this year and 2011 is its premier issue, we plan to make that an unlimited number of classifieds for both 2010 and 2011. So far, we've received positive feedback and approval of this plan. It would be especially beneficial for businesses which have an ever changing inventory. And by also offering full color ads that are placed within the online classifieds, we can not only offer the classified service free to the general public but that service would be a good draw of the buying public to the website.
It will be a few weeks before this system will be operational. We will also be adding an upgrade option for those who have already purchased listings and ads that might want to add the classified ads option.
